Coloring Easter Eggs

Hey Dad...what happens when you put cold eggs into boiling hot water? His response:Nothing, just go ahead and put them in. Aubree's reaction when the eggs cracked: Ewww! They're like, exploding in the water and now there's egg stuff all over everything!

Hey Dad...what happens when you take a hot egg that's just been boiled and put it under cold water? His response: Nothing, I'm just going to cool them off so we can touch them without burning ourselves.
The egg's response: CRACK!

Canon totally did not get what all the excitement was about. We also discovered that he doesn't like to eat hard boiled eggs. Yuck!

I'm so happy we got this done before Easter. Usually we get so busy with life, I don't think about coloring eggs until it's the day of or after Easter.

FHE

Family Home Evening

We had a lesson about service the week before, and now it was time for us to put our learning to good use. We've had a lot of rain the last couple of weeks, which is very uncommon in the desert. I love rain in Arizona... it has a different smell.
Anyway, although we love the water, we hate the weeds that inevitably grow afterwards. So we weeded our front yard for FHE. Then we took our tools over to the girls' school and weeded a section of their weeds too. That was actually a lot more fun because we told them they couldn't tell anyone at school about it. They giggled and laughed the whole time. Well, there was some weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth until we made the game out of it. We topped the night off with some Icees from QT.

Happy Birthday Aubree!

Aubree is 14!!! She celebrated with some friends from her mutual group. They made pizzas, had a bonfire and kind of watched a movie while they painted nails. They also did "blind" makeovers. That's where the person aplying the make up isn't allowed to look at what she's doing. Needless to say, Aubree has lipstick on her forehead and blush in her ear. :)

Nice job, ladies!

The tradition in our family is that the birthday girl or boy gets to pick where the family goes to dinner. Aubree wanted to go to Carl's Jr. Yeah, I know... you could go anywhere you want and she picks Carl's Jr.
Atleast I didn't have to cook. :)
